Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
CVCraftery (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a free online resume builder available at cvcraftery.amsorg.co.in, operated as an independent hobby project. For privacy-related enquiries, contact us at cvcraftery@gmail.com.
2. What Data We Collect
When you use CVCraftery, you voluntarily provide the following personal data:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Postal address (optional)
- LinkedIn profile URL (optional)
- Professional summary, skills, work experience, and education
- Job description text you paste into the tool
We do not collect payment information, create user accounts, or set tracking or analytics cookies. We may log standard web server access logs (IP address, browser, timestamp) for security and diagnostic purposes.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely for the following purposes:
- Resume generation — to produce a PDF and DOCX file tailored to your input.
- ATS analysis — to compare your resume content against the job description you provide and compute an ATS score.
- AI enhancement — if AI features are enabled, your professional summary, skills, and job description are sent to a third-party AI provider (see Section 4) to improve keyword alignment.
- Cover letter generation — if you request a cover letter, your resume data and job description are sent to the AI provider.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond generating your resume.
4. Third-Party AI Providers
When AI enhancement is active, your data is transmitted to one of the following providers depending on the site configuration:
- Google Gemini — governed by Google’s Privacy Policy
- Groq — governed by Groq’s Privacy Policy
- Anthropic Claude — governed by Anthropic’s Privacy Policy
These providers process your data as data processors on our behalf. We recommend reviewing their respective privacy policies.
5. Data Retention
Generated PDF and DOCX files are stored temporarily on our server and automatically deleted within 1 hour of creation. No other copy of your resume content is stored by us after your session ends. Web server access logs are retained for up to 10 days for security purposes.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable law (including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the EU GDPR, and the California CCPA), including:
- The right to know what data we hold about you
- The right to request deletion of your data
- The right to withdraw consent at any time
- The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
Since we do not retain personal data beyond the 1-hour file expiry, most data subject requests are satisfied automatically. To exercise any right, contact us at cvcraftery@gmail.com.
7. Cookies
CVCraftery does not use tracking or advertising cookies. A temporary session cookie may be set by the web server for standard HTTP session management; it expires when you close your browser and contains no personal information.
8. Data Transfers
When AI features are used, your data is transferred to third-party AI providers which may process it outside India. By using the AI features, you consent to this international transfer.
9. Children’s Privacy
CVCraftery is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
